    Hands Across the Sea Samplers are proud to present to you, a beautiful reversible band sampler from the private collection of Nicola Parkman. Bathya’s sampler has a remarkable history and takes pride of place in Nicola’s collection. You can read about Bathya's sampler on Nicola's web site.

    The sampler was charted with Au Ver à Soie® Soie d’Alger silks, although DMC is  provided as an optional thread.

    LINEN SIZES

    The model was stitched on Lakeside Linen Pecan Butter.

    The design area is 140 stitches (w) x 490 stitches (h). Our calculations have included a 3” margin for finishing and framing.

    36ct: Fabric: 13.75" x 34" (cut special SQ 13.5x36)

    37ct: Fabric: 13.5″ x 33″   (cut special SQ 17.75x36)

    40ct: Fabric: 13" x 31" (cut special SQ 13.5x36 or SH 27x36)

    46ct: Fabric: 12" x 27"   (cut size SQ 18x27)

    55ct: Fabric: 11.5" x 25" (cut size SQ 18x27)

    The fabric the original was stitched on is similar in color to DMC 3782. The closest matches are below. Or you can use an Antique White fabric. For the 36 & 40 count linens, if you want the 13.5x36 cut order a Stitcher's Quarter and make a note in the comments that you want a Bathya Cut. It will not be listed in the online catalog.

    Ann's sampler has been reproduced with Au Ver à Soie d’Alger silks and the skein quantities calculated based on 1 strand on 36ct fabric. We have provided conversions for DMC based on 2 strands on 36ct linen.

    The sampler is stitched cross stitch over 2 linen threads. The sampler is suitable for needle workers of all levels of ability.

    Please note that we do not charge for orders until we ship them. The checkout process will capture your information for us to use when we ship your order.
