Hands Across the Sea Samplers are pleased to present to you “Sally Stansfield 1841” a very sweet school girl sampler. The moment Nicola saw this delightful sampler she knew that Sally, a friend who shares her passion for school girl samplers, would be thrilled to
see her namesake reproduced.
Sally is an ideal companion piece for the very popular Mary Clayton.
The sampler was charted with Au Ver à Soie® Soie d’Alger silks, although DMC is provided as an optional thread.

The design area is 221 stitches (w) x 207 stitches (h). Our calculations have included a 3” margin for finishing and framing.
The model was stitched on Weeks over-dyed Zweigart in the colour
Straw using the mellowed colors found on the front of the original
sampler today. The original sampler measures approximately 15 x 14
inches.
