We'll have a 1 hour lunch break each day if you wish to eat at one of our many local restaurants.

This geometric counted canvas design is the final design in the “Peace” trilogy which includes the popular Serenity & Harmony designs. Planned to coordinate with and complement Serenity & Harmony, the soft blues, pinks and golds, unusual stitch combinations and laid thread patterns, combined with a variety of thread textures create a mood of tranquility. A few metallic threads are spread throughout to add sparkle and shine. Several different sizes of squares and rectangles are used to create movement while still experiencing peace and calmness. The layout of Tranquility is not the same as Serenity or Harmony but the sizes of the squares and rectangles are consistent with them. The additional colorways will coordinate with the Serenity colorways but not use the exact threads as the Serenity colorways.

You'll find additional colorways on the Colorways tab. Gloriana's Wood Pond is the basis for the design you see in the master photo. If you have not taken Serenity or Harmony before, you can purchase a kit for either of those class pieces as long as you are attending the class for Tranquility. Contact us at the shop.

Your complete kit for 18 mesh canvas will include all materials needed to stitch and complete the project as described. Instructions will included charts, diagrams and step by step instructions. If you wish to stitch this on 13 mesh canvas, you'll an option for that above, which is an additional $20.

Please note: This class is only available to those who attend in person. Per Kathy's requirements we cannot send kits to students who do not show up for class.

Kathy has alternate color ways to the original design. All are based on Gloriana silk thread colors.

You should bring to class any magnification you need along with you as well as the usual class stitching supplies (scissors, extra needles, pen or pencil, note paper, highlighters, etc.).

Payment & Cancellation Policy

To sign up for these Kathy Rees's class, please contact the shop via phone, e-mail or register online. Registration requires the deposit amount to be paid at the time of registration. Be sure to give your contact information in case we need to reach you for any reason.

There are no refunds of deposits or fees for cancellation of designer classes so please choose wisely before registering. If we have to cancel a class for any reason your class fee/deposit will be refunded.

All of Jackie's classes will be held at the Hawthorn Suites at 1628 Webster Street, less than a mile from the shop. This is also the hotel we recommend students to stay in when visiting us for classes.

For our 2018 classes the hotel has a room rate for students. Be sure to call the hotel directly and let them know you are attending the Needle In A Haystack classes that weekend to receive our room rate.

The conference room is on the first floor. Students will have the use of a Stella Lighting Desk lamp during class. If you require magnification we do recommend you bring that with you as well as the usual stitching supplies (scissors, extra needles, note taking implements, etc.).

We are open Tue-Sat 11am-3pm PT for orders, pickup and appointments. We are not able to accept Expedited orders at the present time. Many of our vendors are still taking longer to supply us due to increased demand and supply chain issues. If you only want items we have in stock, please mark your order Ship Partial Cancel Incomplete Items. While we would love to be able to give firm ETAs for items we are out of, that's not possible with the disruption COVID-19 continues to cause across the supply chain.

Russian customers: We are unable to accept orders being sent to Russia or using a payment method with that as the country of origin due to sanctions.

EU & UK customers: We are no longer shipping orders less than £135 (~$170USD) to the UK or €150 (~$165USD) to the EU due to VAT requirements imposed by the EU & UK governments. If you are in the EU or UK and you order is over £135/€150, we can send it an you will be responsible for VAT when it is delivered. For orders under that amount, we would suggest having us send it to a Freight Forwarder in the US, which can then handle the requiste paperwork for VAT. We hope the UK & EU governments will adjust the rules to limit its scope to large scale businesses, but we're not confident that will happen.

If you use the Save Cart feature, be sure your cart is empty when you retrieve/view the saved cart. It will over-ride what is in the existing cart.

Please note that we do not charge for orders until we ship them. The checkout process will capture your information for us to use when we ship your order. As we do not have a real-time inventory system, please contact us at the shop if you need us to check if we have the items you need in stock if your order is urgent.

Our time to pull orders is currently 2-3 business days. Do indicate any Deadline in the appropriate field..
Our current shipping time for complete or partial orders is 2-3 business days once an order is ready to ship. .
