Acrylic thread keeps made by Cathe (aka The Floss Queen). This style features one of the stitched motifs from Hands Across The Sea's 2020 Queen of the May sampler - Mary Carter 1712.

Colors of acrylic are Ivory Pearl, White Pearl and Copper Pearl

You can write on acrylic with a fine tip Sharpie. To remove the writing use a tiny amount of alcohol on a cotton swab. Do not use too much alcohol as it can cause acrylic to get fine lines in it (called crazing).

4 accessories are being offered and you can order either individual pieces or the set of all 4, which gets you a discount!

Threadholders have holes to match the number of threads used in Mary Carter 1712.

The Pinkeep is a kit you put together yourself. It comes with acrylic, wool felt, a chenille needle, Stitch Witchery, Soie 100/3 to match the acrylic and instructions. Cathe has posted a video to our YouTube channel on the assembly as well. You'll get a copy of the instructions with your kit, but you can also find the PDF online, or you'll also find them on the Additional Information tab.

The Needlekeep swivels on a Chicago screw and has 2 layers of wool felt you can put your needles in.

The Needleminder has small magnets and is a useful size for keeping your needles organized while stitching.

You'll sew these together with essentially a double running stitch. Once you've threaded your needle find where you want to start and stop your thread, insert the needle and make sure you've got half of hanging. You only want to make the first pass with half the thread. Go around the pinkeep making every other stitch from front to back, back to front. When you reach the hanging thread, put it in the needle and either reverse course of fill in the remaining stitches (depends on whether there is an even or odd number of hole in the pinkeep).

When you've reached the end tie a knot in the thread 2-3 times close to a hole. I recommend you put your needle in the hole and tie the knots around the needle. Then thread each end and pull it through to the other side. Tug a little so the knot gets buried in the wool felt. For extra security you can tie another knot on this side. Then snip close to the acrylic (being careful to not catch the thread you've sewn with).

Now you have a completed pinkeep. Decorate with glass head pins or needles, as you wish.

We are currently in the shop to ship and offer curbside pickup. We are accepting online orders but we are behind due to a significant increase in order volume. If you have an order that you cannot wait 2-4 weeks for, even if we have the items in stock, we suggest you contact another shop. Most of our vendors are also swamped so we are not able to give an accurate ETA for most items to we are out of. We expect this disruption to last through at least the fall and perhaps through the rest of 2020.

We hope that everyone stays safe during this difficult time and we appreciate your support.
